Games / Crysis 2 Demo
« on: March 02, 2011, 08:13:21 PM »
Anyone download it?
Quite frankly, I was horribly disappointed by it. I mean, I want my Dx10, not this crappy Dx9 that its apparently shipping with. Doesn't feel like the ass rape that Crysis 1 handed to my computer. Got a flat 60 Fps on every setting (Have no clue what the hell high is) @ 1680x1050. Also, "Press Start to Begin"/Aim Assistance/Simplified graphical options; I was offended.

BF 3 / Re: Battlefield 3

If BC2 is any guide, the CPU is extremely important.  I can run it with s moderately old GPU (well, it's a single gtx 260, but it's still not exaclty new) at 1920x1080, settings maxed, aa and af at x4 because I have an overclocked i7 CPU.  People with core 2 duos or even core 2 quads can't run it like that.
Yeah, my Core 2 Duo can't handle 1680x1050 w/ AA/AF AT 4x @ max settings. It's a shame...

I'm not really good with comp :-\, can you tell to me if my comp could run bf3 ? :)

-Intel core duo e6420
- MoGeforce 7600 GS
- 2.Go Ram.

Thanks
Dual core CPU/non-DX10(11) video card is a huge "no."

If you put two hexacore xeons with hyperthreading, you can have 32 physical cores I guess.  I don't think 8800s will work because the game only supports directx 10 and 11.  So ^no XP support either.  Iirc the lighting is dynamic.
MY 8800s support DX 10, however, they struggle to play BC2 with anti-aliasing on and @ 1680x1050 with max. And yeah, I meant to say dynamic lighting...

I'm interested in seeing how this lighting is going to work. IIRC, it's generated instead of hardcoded. Also, wonder if Dual 8800 GT SLi will run this on low...
The game will support up to 32 CPU cores
Are there even processors with that many cores on the market? I though the present max was 8, unless it was a super-computer.

Graphics / Re: Photoshop some shit.

I spent a good five minutes cutting that whatever the fuck it is out of the picture, and then I realized. How the fuck is the background supposed to be transparent. It would have to be saved as a .PNG, and you DON'T FUCKING HAVE PHOTOSHOP.
IIRC, you can use transparent .png files with GIMP.

You should be good unless you've received a hardware ban. Then you need a new HDD among some other things, of which I do not remember...

Help / Re: FUCK

Not sure if this would act the same for a CPU, but when I was installing my second 8800, I had forgotten to attach one of the PSU's wires to it which lead to a long continuous beeping noise. Try seeing if all the wires are in place and do what Malbert said and dust it off, as it might not be reading its input.

Reinstalling Windows should be the easiest fix. If it loads Windows then crashes, then it's most likely not your hard drive.
